Our nature-based preschool program immerses young children (ages 3-5) in the natural world, using outdoor settings and natural elements as the core of an emergent, play-based curriculum focused on whole-child development (cognitive, physical, social, emotional) and environmental literacy.
Key elements include daily outdoor time, inquiry-based learning through exploration, integrating nature indoors, fostering stewardship, and teacher facilitation rather than direct instruction, often incorporating themes like seasons or local wildlife.

My name is Ms. Addison.
I have been at Big Steps since the beginning of 2025 and have been working in the ECE field since 2021.
I have previous experience as an Early Childhood Outdoor Education Specialist and absolutely love getting out into nature and exploring the world God has created for us. I am currently completing my Child Development Associate.
My favorite part of working with young children is fostering their curiosity and giving them the freedom and opportunities to learn and explore in our natural world. I work with all ages here and I am so thankful to be part of their journey and watch them grow.
